Plot[]
- Perhaps the funniest episode in the series and told in flashback. Herman, wanting to go to a reunion of his old army unit, finds he can't fit into his uniform and resolves to go on a crash diet. He limits himself to vitamin pills and water, and midway through the week, the diet becomes a matter of principle to him despite Lily urging him to eat something and Grandpa's sadistic mockery. On the edge of breaking with only 24 hours to go (and worse that it's actually Thanksgiving Day), Grandpa straps Herman to the table in his lab and the family leave him with the television to keep him entertained while they go out. Unfortunately, when a commercial for a home-delivered complete Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings airs, Herman snaps, busts out of the lab, and breaks into the neighbours' house as they're about to sit down to their dinner —which Herman gorges himself on.
